MONASH freeway UPGRADE

Fulton Hogan was awarded the Monash Freeway upgrade in Melbourne, Victoria.  NLA assisted in providing trucks for the asphalting & profiling works on the entire project spanning over several years. Stage 1 of the works started in September 2016 and was completed in June 2018, 30km of freeway was widened from 4 to 5 lanes between Eastlink and the South Gippsland Freeway and 2 to 3 Lanes between South Gippsland Freeway and Clyde Road in Berwick. Stage 2 was commenced in early 2020 and scheduled for completion in 2022, stage 2 adds 36km of new lanes, connects Police Rd to the freeway with an outbound entry-ramp, connects Jacksons Rd outbound directly to Eastlink and opens a new O’Shea Rd extension between Soldiers Road and Princes Freeway.

Level Crossing Removal Projects

As part of Victoria’s Big Build the state agreed to remove 50 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne by 2022 with a value of approximately $8.3 billion and another 60 to be removed by 2030. NLA provided tippers for the asphalting, profiling and excavation works. NLA have worked across multiple level crossing projects for clients including Delcon, Acciona, Fulton Hogan & Downer. The level crossings we have worked on include Bayswater, Lyndhurst, Seaford, Dandenong South, Hallam, & Chelsea Stations. We are currently working on the Glen Huntly Level Crossing Removal lowering the rail line into a trench and constructing a new station. Boom gates at these locations can be down for up to 58% of the morning peak, when up to 40 trains run through the crossings.

Hall Road, Carrum Downs Upgrade

BMD Constructions were awarded the Hall Road Upgrade by the Major Roads Projects Victoria. This project commenced early 2022 with majority of the cartage provided by NLA, we have trucks importing quarry products and exporting clean fill. This project will add an extra lane in each direction between McCormicks Rd and Western Port Highway as well as upgrades to the intersections at McCormicks Road, Taylors Road and Western Port Highway to increase capacity and improve traffic flow. They are also completing upgrades to the Evans Road and Cranbourne-Frankston Road intersections to provide a single, safer and more efficient intersection, building footpaths, installing additional streetlights and safety barriers. Five intersection upgrades will improve access to streets and local facilities through dedicated turning lanes which will also improve traffic flow. This project is scheduled to be completed in Late 2024
